The "curse" of the Maldives, one of the divers who participated in

One of the divers involved in the search for the bodies of Italians who drowned in a cave in the Maldives has died during an underwater rescue operation.

Mohamed Mahudhee was transported to the hospital in critical condition, but unfortunately did not survive the surgery.

According to authorities, the diver died as a result of decompression sickness, caused by the formation of gas bubbles (usually nitrogen) in the blood and tissues after rapidly emerging from the water.

The rescue operation began a few days after it was reported that five Italians, who had dived while exploring underwater caves in the Maldives, drowned and died.
