Gaza's Hamas-led health ministry claims that about 18,000 Palestinians have been killed since war broke out with Israel following the October 7 attacks.

The ministry said 17,700 had died and 48,780 were injured following Israeli air strikes and ground operations by the Israeli Defense Forces inside the enclave.

The numbers have not been verified and Israeli officials have consistently said they believe this figure is much lower, claiming hamas is "inflating" the numbers.
