Ukrainian hackers created fake profiles with female names and photos to lure Russian soldiers. The latter sent them photos, which the hackers then passed on to the Ukrainian military, the Financial Times reports.
Nikita Knysh, an IT professional from Kharkiv, said that when the invasion of Ukraine began on February 24 this year, he wanted to use his hacking skills to help his country.
Knush also recruited young hackers and founded the group called "Hackyourmom", which now consists of 30 people from all over Ukraine.
He also revealed the most recent case, where the Russians fell prey to a trap. Nikita Knysh revealed that they tricked Russian soldiers by creating fake accounts and pretending to be women.
They convinced the Russian soldiers to send photos, with which they were then located.
The information was immediately relayed to the Ukrainian military, and just a few days later, the base was blown up, Knysh tells the Financial Times.
