The Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovacevski has declared that this Thursday together with his ministers they will resign to pave the way for the formation of the technical government.

"The entire Government will resign on Thursday at 10:00 am. We will have enough time to complete all the formalities and on Sunday the technical Government will be voted".

For the first time in history, the government of the neighboring state will be led by an Albanian. He will be Talat Xhaferi, where the technical government is tasked with the smooth running of the presidential and parliamentary elections.

In order to pave the way for this process, it is expected that Xhaferi will also resign as Speaker of the Parliament.

Before the government vote, it was agreed that Jovan Mitreski, currently the chairman of the parliamentary group of the Social-Democratic League, will be elected as the chairman of the Assembly.

Apart from SDSM, DUI and the Alliance for Albanians, the opposition, VMRO DPMNE, should also be part of the technical government. It is responsible for the Ministries of Internal Affairs, Labor and Social Policy, as well as three deputy ministers with special powers.
