A wedding party in Italy turned to horror when more than 30 guests were injured after the floor they were dancing on collapsed.

The event that sent several people to the hospital, among them the bride and groom, happened on January 13 in Pistoia.

In the video, the couple and their friends are seen dancing when suddenly a hole opens in the floor and they all fall from a height of about 8 meters.

"Suddenly I found myself in another dimension, in the dark, in the void," said the son-in-law Paolo Munaini.

"Within a moment I heard bodies falling on top of me along with the debris," he added to Corriere della Sera.

"There was blood everywhere, I started screaming, I was calling my wife Valerie. She was unresponsive and I thought she was gone. I was afraid she was buried under the rubble," he continued his description of what happened to the wedding party.

A total of 37 people were injured in the accident, where 28 of them had to stay in the hospital for at least 24 hours.

The newly married couple decided to sue the owner of the hall with the prosecutor's investigation, to see if there were construction failures in the bar.

According to the Italian media, it was the first time that this place was used for an event.
