The German military has hastily left Greenland hours after Trump's threats.
Bild reports on the sudden departure of German soldiers who arrived in Greenland just 44 hours after their arrival on the Arctic island, publishing the relevant photo from the airport.
Berlin said the 15 soldiers would stay in Greenland longer than originally planned.
According to foreign media, the decision was made today, Sunday, morning without any explanation being given to the military. The order was simple "go back," writes Bild, adding that all meetings of Germans scheduled for today in Greenland were hastily canceled.
For now, however, it remains unclear whether Berlin's decision is related to Trump's threats on Saturday to impose tariffs on 8 European countries, including Germany, that sent troops to Greenland or if it is related to other reasons.
