Israel has carried out airstrikes on three ports and a power plant in areas controlled by Houthi rebels in Yemen, as part of “Operation Black Flag.” The targets included the Galaxy Leader, a ship seized by the Houthis in 2023 and used for maritime surveillance.
Following the attacks, two rockets were fired from Yemen towards Israel. The Israeli military activated sirens in several areas and said the intercepts were "under review."
The Houthis said they used locally-made surface-to-air missiles to defend themselves. Their media reported strikes on the port of Hudaydah, but gave no details of casualties or damage.
Defense Minister Israel Katz warned that the Houthis "will continue to pay a high price for their actions."
