Israel reconsiders 'red line': Turkish forces could enter Gaza

Israel is holding internal consultations on the possibility of accepting Turkish forces into the international mission expected to be deployed in the Gaza Strip, as part of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement.

According to the Israel Broadcasting Authority, official sources indicate that Tel Aviv may be forced to reconsider its rejectionist stance towards Ankara, due to the reluctance of many countries to send troops to this international mission.

Sources point out that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to face a sensitive political challenge during his upcoming meeting with US President Donald Trump, where the issue of the presence of Turkish forces in Gaza will be one of the main topics.

Although for Netanyahu, Turkey's participation is considered a "red line", diplomatic pressure and the lack of alternative options are making this position increasingly difficult to maintain.

In recent days, Turkish media have reported that Trump may put direct pressure on Netanyahu to allow Ankara's involvement in the international force, a development that risks deepening political tensions between Israel and Turkey.

According to Israeli sources, the final decision will lie with Israel, which is still weighing whether to maintain its veto against Turkey or accept a difficult compromise in the name of stability and implementation of the ceasefire agreement.
