Police discovered a hideout where cocaine was stored and prepared for distribution in northern Italy, in an apartment in Sorisole, Bergamo province. Agents seized 40 packages of cocaine, weighing about one kilogram each, placed on the kitchen table, as well as another 25 packages hidden in the fabric of the living room sofa.
Also, an amount of 6,570 euros in cash was found
The police followed the movements of a 37-year-old Albanian man, who used rented vans to transport drugs. Last Tuesday (November 19) with the help of the Arcore traffic police, he was stopped near the exit of the A7 Milan-Genoa motorway, near the Assago point in Milan. Inside an air compressor that was loaded into the vehicle, agents found a one-kilogram package of cocaine.
The driver had a key with him, which led investigators to Sorisole's apartment, where, in addition to the drugs and money, they found drug packaging equipment, a vacuum machine, a precision scale, another larger scale, a pad records with the accounting of drug trafficking and a machine for counting money.
During the check in the courtyard of the building, the agents saw a second person, a 30-year-old Albanian, who could not explain his presence there, but was holding an apartment key. For this reason, he was also arrested.
In total, about 76 kilograms of drugs were seized, divided into packages with different logos. By order of the relevant prosecutors from the Prosecutor's Offices of Milan and Bergamo, the 37-year-old was sent to prison in Milan, while the 30-year-old was sent to Bergamo. The court has confirmed the arrest for both. /ANSA/
