Ex-officer enters daycare center and shoots at children and adults, at least 31

A former police officer opened fire on children at a preschool in Thailand, killing at least 31.

The gunman is still at large after the attack in Nong Bua Lamphu, in the north-east of the country.

According to the police, there are children and adults among the victims.

The gunman shot and stabbed children and adults and is now on the run, police said, while the officer was reportedly fired recently.

Mass shootings in Thailand are rare.

In 2020, a soldier killed 21 people and injured dozens more in the city of Nakhon Ratchasima.
