Ralf Gjoni and former ambassador Roland Bimo spoke about the trial of former KLA commanders in The Hague.
Asked by journalist Roland Qafoku whether Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi will be sentenced to prison, they said:
Ralf Gjoni: I think there will be increasing pressure and they will be declared innocent.
Roland Bimo: They will be punished. Will the punishment be 6 months, a year, a week or 5 years – they will be punished. That is the likelihood. It is not about Hashim Thaçi, it is about punishing the KLA, about punishing the national liberation movements, because tomorrow other movements may arise from these movements.
Ralf Gjoni: Even a one-week sentence would be pro-Serb and pro-Russian. It would be a shame.
Roland Bimo: The Russians don't care much about punishment, because they have a whole fable created for Donbass and Crimea, based on the same principles on which Kosovo's independence was recognized. Here we are dealing with geopolitical and geostrategic interests.
Whoever did the intervention did it in such a camouflaged way that it is impossible to find out who initiated it. Just as we do not know who paid Dick Marty. There is indirect evidence that it could be Russian or Serbian services, but it is difficult to find traces.
