The chilling story from Turkey was born on the day of the 1999 earthquake

Osman Enes Basturk, who was born on the day of the earthquake on August 17, 1999, lost his life in another earthquake.


The 24-year-old boy who came to this world in the city of Gaziantep, began his life during an earthquake and ended it through another earthquake with the epicenter in the city of Kahramanmaras.

Asiye Basturk, his mother, told the life story of Enes, who lost his life after a wall fell on him while trying to protect his brother from the 7.7-magnitude earthquake that hit the Turkish state, reports t24.com.tr.

"My son Osman Enes was born in Gaziantep during the Golcuk earthquake that happened in 1999. He died in the Nurdagı earthquake in 2023. He was as brave as a mountain. It was like my son playing. Mountains and rocks could not bring my son down. God brought him to life," she said.

The mother continued her account of her late son, saying that she gave her life trying to protect her brother.

"Osman Enes was strong, he said he will save his brother. My son tried to protect his brother, but he could not save himself. My little son got out of the ruins, but he couldn't get out," said Basturk, among others.
