Schools in Halkida, Greece will be closed for three days due to a heat wave that will bring high temperatures to most of the country.

According to the emergency order, kindergartens, primary schools, special kindergartens and special primary schools will also be closed.

Authorities say the suspension of classes was deemed necessary to protect students from high temperatures.

Temperatures in the neighboring country are expected to reach 38 degrees Celsius from June 13.
