The US and China warn Ukraine: Be careful on August 24

Diplomats of the United States and China have informed that, Moscow is preparing a revenge plan against Ukraine on the day when Kiev will celebrate its independence.

The US Embassy in Ukraine, citing information from the US State Department, warned that Russia may prepare attacks against government and civilian targets in Ukraine in the coming days. Washington's diplomatic mission said it has information that Russia is stepping up its efforts to launch night and day drone and missile strikes across Ukraine.

Likewise, the Chinese embassy in Ukraine has published a warning to its compatriots about the possible intensification of Russian bombing. The diplomatic headquarters in Beijing reiterated the news for Chinese citizens not to travel to Ukraine, "taking into account the current security situation" and told those present to immediately seek shelter in safe places when the plane alert sounds, Reuters cites.

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with senior officials on Thursday about the situation in the Russian regions bordering Ukraine. "I have gathered you to discuss the situation that is currently developing in the border regions of Russia," Putin said at the opening of the meeting. First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov said that Russia is assessing damage to agriculture and industry in the border regions.

But in the meantime, an unusual situation is happening in the Russian region of Kursk. Local authorities have started building shelters and bunkers for civilians in case of any invasion by Ukraine. "With my instructions, the Kursk city administration has identified central locations for the installation of prefabricated modular bunkers," regional governor Alexei Smirnov said on Telegram.
