A small private plane crashed near a highway in Italy around 1:00 p.m., killing the pilot and passenger.

The plane had departed from the "Alvaro Leonardi" airfield in Maratta and had L'Aquila as its destination.

From the first reconstructions, the plane named "Aeroclub Pescara" flew over the E45 highway, falling to the ground immediately after.

After the crash, the plane burst into flames and the pilot and passenger died instantly.
