What really happened in Venezuela and why does it appear that the United States used a "secret weapon" during the major operation that led to the arrest of Nicolas Maduro?

The issue began with an enigmatic statement by US President Donald Trump and has become one of the most controversial issues on the current geopolitical agenda. On January 24, 2026, Trump spoke to a major American newspaper and revealed that in the early days of the new year, during the military operation in Caracas that led to the arrest of Maduro and his wife, US forces used a previously unknown technology that he called the “Discombobulator.”

According to his description, it is a highly advanced weapon that was capable of disabling equipment controlled by Venezuelan forces, including missile systems manufactured in Russia and China, preventing any effective response during the intervention. He claimed that the use of the weapon allowed US forces to enter the capital without losing a single American soldier.

Trump’s description was both vague and impressive. He called the technology a “Discombobulator” or “disintegrator,” suggesting that it is a device capable of creating disorientation, affecting communication systems, and perhaps even causing physical effects on people in the area. The US side did not provide specific technical details or explain how it works, what kind of energy it uses, or whether it is sonic, electromagnetic, or some other form of technology. Trump himself stated that no one else in the world has such technology.

Since then, media reports have reported victims experiencing severe reactions to the weapon, including bleeding, loss of balance, and severe disorientation, signs that many have attempted to link to some form of advanced “sonic” or energetic attack. However, there has been no independent confirmation or official technical analysis to prove the existence or correct functioning of such a device.

Although Trump presented the “Discombobulator” as a sign of technological superiority and a critical contribution to the success of the operation, many military analysts and commentators seem skeptical. There is an assessment that behind such a vague description may be hidden known electronic warfare tools, jamming systems or a combination of various technologies already used in modern operations, and not a completely new “magic” device. The lack of official technical details and independent assessments reinforces these doubts.
