Erdogan heads to New York, will discuss Palestine with Trump

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan left today, September 21, for New York to attend the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.

Before leaving, he stated that he would raise the issue of Israel's massacres in Gaza as a focus of his meetings and expressed hope that broader international recognition of Palestine would accelerate efforts for a two-state solution.

Erdogan stressed that during the visit he will discuss cooperation in the fields of trade and the defense industry with US President Donald Trump, as well as meet with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.

"Our meeting with President Trump will contribute to ending wars and conflicts in our region within the framework of our shared vision for global peace, and will further strengthen cooperation between our countries," Erdogan previously stressed.

Erdogan's stance on Palestine is clear: he seeks international awareness of the rights of the Palestinian people and an end to violence, placing this issue at the center of the agenda of his visit to the US.
