Turkey has recalled its ambassador to Tel Aviv due to the ongoing attacks in Gaza.
In a statement, Turkey's Foreign Ministry said Sakir Ozkan Torunlar withdrew "in view of the ongoing humanitarian tragedy in Gaza, and the calls for a ceasefire that have fallen on deaf ears."
The decision comes after Israel withdrew its envoys to Turkey last month to reassess ties between the two countries after Erdogan branded Hamas militants as freedom fighters.
On the other hand, the Turkish president sent messages in all directions after returning from Kazakhstan, where he participated in the tenth summit of the Organization of Turkic States.
"Netanyahu is no longer a person who can be considered our interlocutor in any way, we deleted him and threw him away," Erdogan declared, making the Israeli prime minister responsible for the situation in Gaza.
Also, he emphasized that Ankara will do everything to bring the Gaza issue to The Hague.
"We will support initiatives that will refer Israel's human rights violations and war crimes to the International Criminal Court. Our respective authorities, especially our Foreign Ministry, will carry out this work", the Turkish leader added.
However, there will not be a complete interruption of relations between the two countries. Erdogan clarified that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and the head of the secret services, Ibrahim Kalin, will continue to use all diplomatic means.
Turkey, which has sharply escalated its criticism of Israel over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, supports a two-state solution and hosts members of Hamas, which it does not view as a terrorist organization, unlike the US, Britain and other countries. the West.
Ankara has called for an immediate ceasefire and offered to set up a system to guarantee it.
Before the Israel-Hamas war, Turkey was working to repair relations with Israel after several difficult years between the two countries.
