Two officials of the Municipality of Gracanica are arrested on suspicion of

Kosovo Police have arrested two officials of the Cadastre Department in the Municipality of Gracanica on suspicion of corruption, the mayor of the municipality, Ljiljana Shubaric, announced on Thursday.

Shubaric did not provide further details about their arrest, but stressed that the investigation and arrest of municipal officials do not question the functioning of the local leadership of the Gracanica Municipality or the Cadastral Directorate.

She said it was about "actions taken individually" by certain people.

The municipality of Gracanica is one of six Serb-majority municipalities south of the Ibar River.

"There will be investigations and we do not want to speculate further on future procedures. When we receive detailed information, you will be notified," Shubaric said during an address to reporters.

Kosovo Police has not spoken about this issue nor has it responded to Radio Free Europe's questions regarding the arrest of officials in the Municipality of Gracanica and the further steps that will be taken. /rel
