The first meeting of the Joint Kosovo-Serbia Commission on Missing Persons, scheduled to be held today in Brussels, has failed.

The failure of this meeting came after the Serbian delegation refused to participate, in protest after the Kosovo Government's action to close Serbian institutions.

EU dialogue envoy Miroslav Lajcak said that Wednesday's meeting of the Joint Commission on Missing Persons was supposed to be held at the level of deputies, but it failed because the Serbian side announced that it would not participate in the meeting due to developments in Kosovo.

"Today we intended to hold the first meeting of the Joint Commission on Missing Persons. I met separately with both sides. Kosovo presented its priorities. Serbia has announced its non-participation in a joint meeting due to developments in Kosovo," Lajcak wrote in "X".
