Russian rocket 'Satan-2' fails, explodes on runway
Russian RS-28 Sarmat missile launched

The test of the Rs-28 Sarmat intercontinental missile, also known as "Satan" has failed for the fourth time.

The rocket exploded during the attempted launch, causing a large crater on the runway at the Plesetsk cosmodrome in Arkhangelsk.

Sarmat is considered a key part of Russia's strategic arsenal, but the ongoing failures have raised concerns about its effectiveness.

The hypersonic missile, which uses three stages of liquid fuel, has a range of 18,000 kilometers, weighs 200 tons and can be equipped with a thermonuclear head.
