The US DEA, Interpol, the Spanish Guardia Civil and the Portuguese Police destroy a criminal group responsible for two large shipments of drugs.

One shipment was 3 tons of cocaine seized in 2022 in the Canary Islands on an African-flagged vessel and 1.6 tons of cocaine seized in April 2023 on a boat in Peniche, Portugal where the body of a Portuguese fisherman killed by propellers was also found.

Several members of the Balkan Cartel led by Albanians, the Piturros cartel, the Ndragheta cartel and the Colombian cartel were arrested in the operation. Details are expected in the coming hours. So far, it has been learned that there are 9 arrested.
