A serious incident was recorded in Austria, where at least 4 people, all Danish citizens, were injured as a result of the fall of a cable car cabin.
The incident took place in the Hochoetz ski resort in Tyrol in western Austria. The cable car fell from a height of around 7 meters after a tree is believed to have touched its cable at around 10.20am on Tuesday morning.
Foreign media reported that the rescue operation was described as extremely difficult because the site was steep and difficult for emergency workers to reach.
“The gondola crashed into a very rocky area, although the lifeline worked very well. "The rescuers got to the scene very quickly, but the terrain made it very difficult and the helicopters couldn't get there very easily," said Michaela Burger from the cable company.
