Biden warns Moscow about nuclear weapons: Don't use them. The answer will be heavy

US President Joe Biden gives a strong warning to Moscow not to use weapons of mass destruction in Ukraine.

“Just don't do it. This would change the landscape of the war, unlike anything that has been seen since the Second World War", said Biden in an interview for the show "60 Minutes".

However, President Biden did not go into detail about what the American response might be if Russia were to exceed that limit.

"You think I would tell you if I knew the correct answer? Of course I wouldn't find out. But it will have many consequences", added the head of the White House.

Biden's warning in the CBS interview comes at a time when the course of the war in Ukraine has changed with the Ukrainians retaking control of the Kharkiv region. But for Russian President Vladimir Putin, Moscow is in no hurry in Ukraine and that the objective remains the same.

So, in the surroundings of Izium, the Ukrainians have started to take out the bodies of the victims from the mass graves to examine them, after suspicions that the Russians who left there, committed war crimes.

The American president warns, among other things, that if the Kremlin decided to use chemical or nuclear weapons, contempt for Russia would become even greater throughout the world. In the interview, Biden also talked about a number of other issues, including the midterm elections, while promising that he is close to finding a solution to the crisis with the railroad workers to end their strike.

Nuclear weapons have been around for 80 years now, and many countries see them as safeguards for their national security. According to the Federation of American Scientists, Russia is estimated to have about 5,977 nuclear warheads. Tactical nuclear weapons are short-range nuclear weapons, unlike "strategic" ones that can hit the target at a great distance and cause even more damage.

Although the possibility of their use is slim, losses reported in recent days by Russia have raised the alarm that Putin may be tempted to use them. Ukraine claims to have regained more than 8,000 square kilometers of territory in the northeast of the country.
