The members of French President Emmanuel Macron's party, "La République en Marche", are voting to change the party's statute and name, which will now be called "Renaissance".

The results will be made official tonight at a convention in the Louvre Carrousel. With the announcement of the voting results of 25,000 members, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne is also expected to give a speech.

The new statute of the presidential party, which claims 400,000 members, should provide for paid membership, while Stéphane Séjourné, president of the parliamentary group and a former close associate of Macron, is likely to be elected secretary general. 

Emmanuel Macron will be the honorary president of "Renaissance".

Given the impossibility of Macron to run again in 2027 for a third term, create the conditions for a new candidacy.
