A Serb from Mitrovica and her partner, a member of the Croatian Air Force, have been arrested in Vis, Croatia, on suspicion of spying for Serbia. In addition to the Croatian police, Europol has also been involved in the investigation against them. The suspicions are that the Croatian pilot gave secrets to his girlfriend, and she forwarded it to Lista Srpska.

According to Croatian media sources "Index", the two suspects were interviewed on Wednesday and a verdict against them is now awaited.

According to the information, the Croatian pilot was also engaged in KFOR in Kosovo and he allegedly gave his Serbian girlfriend confidential information to then forward to the members of Lista Srpska. According to "Index", the suspect provided information to his partner on the movements of Serbs in the north of Kosovo from the end of 2022 until this year, as well as on the movements of KFOR troops.

Among other things, investigators suspect that he leaked important information to her about Zubin-Potok, one of the problematic municipalities between Serbs and Kosovo Albanians in the north.

Zubin-Potok has been a place of blockades, protests and conflict between local Serbs and Kosovo authorities, as well as international forces, KFOR and EULEX.

Both are also accused of exchanging information related to the transport of arrested Serb Dejan Pantic, a former Kosovo policeman, who is accused of participating in the attacks on CEC offices in North Mitrovica.

His arrest in December 2022 had sparked tensions by Kosovo Serbs in the northern municipalities – with barricades set up in Jarinje and Brnjak lasting for almost three weeks, with the only request: Pantić's release or transfer from prison.

Since Kosovo does not have helicopters, the Ministry of Interior requested KFOR's help in transferring Pantić from the police base near Jarinje to another prison. After almost 19 days, the court had decided to take him under house arrest. Dejan Pantic has been sentenced to two years in prison for hooliganism, but his security measure is a bail of 30,000 euros.

According to Croatian media, the Serbian suspect worked for a foreign company in Serbia and was known in journalism as a reporter from Mitrovica.

They were arrested on July 25 this year. The Croatian pilot was taken into custody, while the suspect was deported from Croatia and placed in the center for foreigners in Trilje. "Index" reported that investigators found communications on their phones through which they concluded that they were part of espionage activities.

KOHA has sent questions to the address of KFOR, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Interior, after 17:00. As soon as there is a response, the article will be updated.
