Camorra boss Gustavo Nocella, one of the most important contacts with Colombian drug traffickers for Italy, has been arrested in Medellin, Colombia.
The arrest of the Italian drug kingpin was announced by Colombian President Gustavo Petro through a post on the 'X' platform, defining Nocella as the "Italian drug kingpin".
The main link of the Rinaldi-Formicola, Amato-Pagano and De Micco clans, Nocella was allied with the South American mafia, especially the Colombian one, to traffic large loads of drugs to Europe.

His criminal career came to a screeching halt as he was handcuffed to an exclusive apartment in Medellin when Colombian National Police commandos executed an Interpol warrant, originally issued by the Naples DEA.
The final phase of Operation Minerva began to take shape six months ago when the National Police, in coordination with EUROPOL, the Italian police and authorities from the United Kingdom, shared information that allowed them to determine that the fugitive had his center of the operation in Colombia.
