Elon Musk has denied reports that he will be leaving the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
The billionaire dismissed all rumors that he would step down from his role in Donald Trump's administration.
Musk's comment followed a tweet from White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt, who also said that the news was not true.
The news of Musk's departure was published by Politico, then by all foreign media.
"US President Donald Trump has told people in his inner circle that Elon Musk will soon resign from his position in the US government," Politico wrote.
According to a report obtained by Politico, Musk would resign in the coming weeks as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge), which was formed with the aim of drastically cutting government spending.
The length of Musk's tenure with the so-called Department of Government Efficiency - where he oversaw sweeping cuts across the US government - has never been made clear.
He is classified as a "special government employee," which would limit his service to 130 days per year.
In a recent interview with Fox News, Musk said he believes DOGE “will have done most of the work required” within the 130-day timeframe.
