More than 12 airstrikes were reported in Beirut overnight, as the Israeli military warned people in a southern suburb to evacuate.
Explosions were heard throughout the night, while smoke was also seen rising from buildings near the airport.
Israeli forces also intensified their attack on the border in southern Lebanon.
Hezbollah said it was engaged in intense ground fighting with Israeli forces, and continued to fire dozens of rockets at the air base near the city of Haifa.
Meanwhile, further north, in the Lebanese city of Tripoli, Israeli strikes killed a Hamas leader.
Lebanon's Health Ministry says more than 2,000 people have been killed so far in Israel's attacks across the country, including 127 children and 261 women, while more than 1.2 million people have been forced from their homes.
Faced with the fear of further escalation of the situation in Lebanon, various countries around the world have prepared emergency operations to evacuate their citizens from Lebanon.
The first to launch these operations was South Korea, which sent a military plane to evacuate 97 of its citizens.
