"Anyone who knows history, the history of religions, politics and diplomacy will easily understand the connection of the issue with Jerusalem, the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the greed for the promised land. This was part of the speech of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the "TEKNOFEST 2024" event taking place in Adana, through which he wanted to explain, according to him, the true goals of the war that Israel has declared against Lebanon.

Erdogan further stated that Ankara is clear about the intentions of the Israeli administration to divide the map of the Middle East.

"Our region is experiencing the most painful days in recent years. Tensions, conflicts and wars are destroying our geography from within. As a nation we are watching with broken hearts the massacres in Gaza and Lebanon. Israel initially occupied Gaza under the pretext of Hamas. Now it is shedding blood in Lebanon under the pretext of Hezbollah. After martyring Ismail Haniyeh, they killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Every time a ceasefire, peace and tranquility in the region approaches, the Israeli government carries out a provocation that will blow up this process. They are using every means to spread the war throughout the region and drown it in blood and tears," said the Turkish leader.

But Turkey, according to Erdogan, will fight to defend itself and at the same time to prevent the fragmentation of the region.

"We are facing a state of madness where they get pleasure from killing even the babies that their mothers hold in their arms. An insidious plan has been put into practice in our region, which will not be limited to Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon. You don't need to be a prophet to see and understand what the ultimate goal of this plan is. We will properly protect our homeland and citizens from evil eyes. In the face of the madness in which our region is, we will stand on the side of justice, on the side of the oppressed, as we have done so far. We will not allow our region to be torn apart again by a new Sykes-Picot split. The land of this country will always be safe," Erdogan declared.

In the end, he did not spare an accusation about the West, saying that they supply Israel with weapons and bombs, turning a blind eye to the massacres of civilians in Gaza and Beirut.

"Despite all these facts, unfortunately, the Western powers continue to provide him with weapons, ammunition, intelligence and diplomatic support. It is clear where the thousands of tons of bombs that fell on Gaza and Lebanon came from, where they were manufactured and who supplied them. With all due respect, those who provide the bombs are just as responsible for every drop of blood spilled as those who throw the bombs. I have to say this very clearly here", emphasized Erdogan.
