The current Director of the Korça Police, Erion Ahmeti, has become a "gendar" in the southeastern city, while the successive scandals at the Kapshtica Customs have not even broken his resolve. Ahmeti, together with the famous Border Director Gëzim Zhupaj, act openly, at the expense of the state itself, citizens or even businesses.

Of course, Ahmeti's past in Tirana, known as the "concrete mixer policeman", has made him stronger, where together with several other directors of the State Police, they have created a "clan". If previously the police were known as the "çiftelia group", now Ahmeti and many others are known as the "Fushëbardhës clan", a village between Gjirokastra and Delvina, which surprisingly has produced many police directors.

With these connections, but also with the support of his judge wife, Alma Ahmeti, the "gendar" of Korça has become untouchable, serving the clan and those who appointed him as director in the southeast.

Erion Ahmeti's career has been mostly in the Traffic Police. In the asset declarations of his judge wife, researched by VoxNews, Ahmeti had a modest salary, despite appearing in the media with very expensive watches and clothing.

He was a policeman and police officer in Korça, where he stayed for several years. He was then transferred to the General Directorate of the State Police, again in the Traffic Police section. He was transferred to Berat and then to Tirana.

For a long time, he was the chief of the road department in Tirana, where he is best known for his “friendship” with the builders, allowing concrete mixers to move freely at any hour of the day in the capital. Although movement restrictions were approved, he ignored every decision.

His support in the State Police was former director Ardi Veliu, but his departure also led to the dismissal of Ahmeti himself. In October 2021, he left the leadership of the Traffic Police Commissariat in Tirana, and some time before he left, he even clashed with actors and public figures, who accused him of "persecution."

Ervin Hoxha's appointment as head of the Ministry of Interior also brought about "exams" for police directors and police station chiefs. The process was highly controversial, as with this decision Hoxha appointed his favorite to head the State Police. Initially, he opened a competition for the position of Director General of the State Police, which was ultimately "won" by Ilir Proda.

Normalisht, “klani i Fushëbardhës” hyri në lojë, pasi një ish-drejtor Ardi Veliu dhe drejtori i emëruar Ilir Proda u futën “mik” për Erion Ahmetin. Të tre janë me origjinë nga Fushëbardha, teksa më pas dikush ka jetuar në Delvinë dhe të tjerë në Sarandë.

Çuditërisht, Erioni i betoniereve para konkursit mori gradën “drejtues”, çka e lejoi të konkurronte për “Drejtor Policie”. Pa asnjë përvojë në luftën kundër krimit, ai arriti të dalë fitues, përpara emrave që kanë vite në gradë të lartë dhe që kanë dhënë kontribut në Policinë e Shtetit. Ahmeti mori më shumë pikë se sa Tonin Vocaj, Skënder Hitaj, Altin Qato e të tjerë, funksionarë me përvojë në Policinë e Shtetit.

Natyrisht kjo renditje ishte një tjetër pikëpyetje mbi procesin e rekrutimit të drejtorëve. Ende sot është e paqartë se cilat ishin cilësitë, kriteret apo vjetërsia që  e kanë renditur me pikë më shumë se zyrtarë të tjerë policorë. Por, begraundi i betoniereve, lidhja me gjyqësorin apo edhe “klani” e katapultuan në një nga Drejtoritë më elitare të Policisë së Shtetit, në Korçë.

Ai u rikthye në juglindje, jo si oficer qarkullimi por si drejtor, duke vendosur edhe “ligje” të brendshme, ku kërkon që çdokush t’i bindet.

Megjithatë, zullumet kanë filluar ti dalin në shesh, teksa Dogana e Kapshticës është bërë si han pa porta. Pak kohë më parë, në redaksinë e VoxNews mbërritën informacione se punonjës të Policisë së Shtetit, më saktësisht të Drejtorisë Vendore të Policisë apo Drejtorinë e Emigracionit, “lejojnë” një mori parregullsish.

Kjo u vërtetua edhe kur Policia e Korçës njoftoi se drejtori i Hetimit Doganor në Drejtorinë e Përgjithshme të Doganave, dy specialistë në këtë drejtori dhe 3 doganierë të Kapshticës janë proceduar penalisht për shpërdorim detyre. Disa doganierë, në bashkëpunim me policët, shpërdoruan detyrën duke falsifikuar dokumentet e regjistrimit të një ngarkese me mallra ushqimore.

Megjithatë, duket se policia ka prerë vetëm disa degë të korrupsionit duke lënë pa cënuar trungun dhe rrënjët. Kjo pasi, ashtu siç e ka denoncuar edhe më herët VoxNews, dyshimet janë se gjitha veprimet bëhen “me leje” të Drejtorit të Kufirit, Gëzim Zhupaj, ndërsa drejtori i drejtorisë vendore të policisë së Korçës Erion Ahmeti bën sehir.

“Po ju drejtohemi me dhjetëra parregullsi në pikën e kalimit kufitar në Kapshticë. Po cënohet siguria kombëtare, ku vendkalimi në juglindje të Shqipërisë nuk kontrollohet. Ose më saktë kalon çfarë kërkon drejtori i Zhupaj. Lejon çfarë do ai. Kalojnë njerëz dhe kafshë çfarë ‘lejon’ drejtori Zhupaj. Është bërë Kapshtica si pronë e drejtorit të Kufirit të Korçës. Ky kudo që ka qenë ka bërë të njëjtën gjë dhe askush s’e ka ndalur”, tha një punonjës i Kufirit, në kushte anonimati për Vox News.

Edhe drejtori i kufirit ka një të kaluar të errët në polici, që nga akuzat për ryshfet apo lejimi i trafikut të tonelatave me hashash, që kalonin lehtësisht nga Vlora, ku Zhupaj ishte drejtor i Kufirit.
