Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Enea Karakaçi said that all transport associations will be subsidized with 50 lek per liter of diesel as a result of the increase in fuel prices.

This decision was made today at the meeting of the Council of Ministers, while the minister announced that the compensation will start from March, when the crisis also affected hydrocarbon prices in Albania.

"As part of the subsidy measures for the time of the hydrocarbon crisis, for urban, intercity and suburban transport.

I sat down with the associations and with representatives of the municipality and the Ministry of Economy and we listened to the concerns. We gave our word that we would have a subsidy measure.

"It's about 50 lek per liter for all public transport companies. Another good news is that we will start this measure in March when we had the beginning of the effects of the crisis," said Karakaçi.
