Rama does the math: If I remove the sales tax on oil, you will pay four times

The leader of the Socialist Party and at the same time Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke at the Socialist Party Assembly in Unit 7 in Tirana regarding the price of oil, which is also a main concern for citizens.

He said that prices have increased everywhere. Rama said that the abolition of the sales tax has been considered, but this would result in citizens paying four times more.

"We have done the math, if we remove the sales tax from the price of oil, the price will drop, but everyone who owns a vehicle will have to pay 4 times what they pay today, on average."

Instead of charging everyone four times the price, we thought it would be better if those who spend the most on oil paid more.

"In a way, those who burn more fuel are more polluting," Rama said.
