Employment expert Ylber Gjeta says in the last 2-3 years, people prefer to work in the public sector rather than the private sector.

In an interview for "Euronews Albania", Gjeta said that these people are those who do not have the ability to work in the private sector. According to him, specialists in Albania can receive higher salaries than in Germany.

"In the last 2-3 years, a phenomenon has occurred where more people, as has been the case before, are talking about a comfortable job in the state. They are looking for those who cannot make it in private, those who are really not capable of taking the risks of capitalism. Specialists who are really specialists can receive much higher pay in Albania than in Germany", he said.

He emphasized that it is difficult to find professionals such as tilers or plumbers, since they have immigrated to Germany.

Over 76,000 people in Albania are registered as unemployed at the National Employment Agency. There are currently around 5,300 vacancies.

According to the National Employment Agency, the problematic age groups are not very favorable for employment. About 50% of unemployed jobseekers are over 45 years old.
