"The government is also paying attention to the salaries of police officers, it is one of its political objectives. The project is ready to take advantage of this increase on July 1, where the basic salary of police officers will increase by 25%, and there will be an additional increase of 5% with a special nature of work. So that's a significant increase of 30%, added together. Almost all police officers are beneficiaries, that is, over 12,000 people," said Fishta.

"The increase will be 30%. From the expected additions, 3,660 prison workers from the lowest rank to the highest rank are beneficiaries. There are 2 projects to increase the salary" - adds Macaj, the president of the Prison Police Union.

In the meantime, a solution has been given to the benefit of payments for additional hours worked, as well as some other problems.

"We requested the removal of the bandage for over 16 hours of work, which has become an obstacle even though the law on this does not prevent the police institution from paying you for over 16 hours of work. The law states in a taxing manner that police officers should not work more than 16 hours, of course there should also be the receipt of the financial difference" - said Sadetin Fishta, the head of the Police Union.

"Law 39 of 2023 restored those denied rights and added some others, such as the issue of housing, food, which in the draft decision, is also sanctioned, Macaj said.

In the state budget of 2024, a fund of 400 million dollars is provided for the employees of the Police, but also of other vital sectors.
