Tirana Police have finalized the police operation codenamed "Wrong Delivery", conducted by the Economic and Financial Crime Investigation Section at the Tirana Police Department, under the direction of the Prosecution, with the aim of cracking down on a structured criminal group suspected of circulating counterfeit euro banknotes.

As a result of the operation, the following were arrested in flagrante delicto: Alesio Brungaj, 19 years old, resident of Shkodër, a 17-year-old minor, resident of Tirana, Serxhio Lala, 26 years old, resident of Tirana, Enis Aliaj, 19 years old, resident of Tirana.

Meanwhile, AP, 19 years old, resident of Kruja, was declared wanted.

According to police, SL, EA and the minor were caught red-handed at a post office in Tirana, while attempting to withdraw 11 packages of suspected counterfeit euro banknotes. These shipments were made by AB, who used a false business name to disguise the activity and distribute the counterfeit banknotes.

The police inform that work continues to capture the wanted citizen, AP, as well as to fully document the criminal activity.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action.
