A new drop in the price of oil was recorded today in the world market after the quarantine was imposed to curb the pandemic in China.

European Union sanctions against Russian oil exports weighed on market sentiment, limiting further price declines.

International benchmark Brent crude oil was at $93.81 a barrel today, after falling 1.29 percent.

The US benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) traded at $87.64 per barrel, while oil prices fell 1.62 percent.

Several cities, including Wuhan in China, the world's second-largest oil consumer, have been placed under quarantine as part of the zero-tolerance policy against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The restrictions include locking down more than 800,000 people in one district in Wuhan until October 30. The measures came after China reported more than 1,000 cases of COVID-19 for the third day in a row. The new measures also apply to Zhengzhou.

Oil prices in the world market have been falling for several days, but in Albania, the "Cheti board" meets only to raise the price.
