Confindustria expresses concern about the problems with abuses in fuel sales volumes for businesses and citizens. The fuel point metrology control service is provided under a PPP concession, making it completely unclear how abuses in the case in question can be legally controlled.

Concerns have increased especially in the second half of 2022, which also pertains to the strong rise in fuel prices. Abuses with traded volumes are sensitive to all types of fuels and especially to liquefied gas trading.

According to indirect comparative estimates with neighboring countries, it is estimated that for oil and gasoline robberies in volumes can reach not less than 5% and for liquefied gas not less than 8% of the sales volume.

Given that the fuel market in Albania has a turnover of at least $ 1.5 billion, the cost to businesses and citizens increases to tens of millions of euros / year. Also, serious consequences are caused to the state budget, knowing that 60% of the price of fuel are taxes and levies.
