Tritan Kalo: The concerns of 41 years of work for which I hope to be understood
Tritan Calo

Some concerns after 41 years of providing care in the preservation and protection of the health of my compatriots, from "a deferred pension" outside of any conflict of interest:

1 – VISION and MISSION

- Advertising -

2 – Not only for the present but also for the future

3 – That BRAIN-DRAIN does not become a FATALITY for the provision of HEALTH SERVICE

4 - That KNOWLEDGE and KNOWLEDGE should not be lost, but rather be qualified day by day.

Let's briefly elaborate on them:

1- The MISSION of every doctor becomes possible to be realized in harmony with his VISION, for the provision of a humanistic and quality Health Service and in the labyrinth of objective possibilities to fulfill this mission.

The preservation of the morality of the Oath of Hippocrates, of this holy Bible / Koran / Torah for our profession, makes our minute effort necessary, in preserving the purity of the WHITE MANTLE of everyone, which proudly seeks to be imprinted in the memory of the people.

2- Our WORK, DEDICATION, PROFESSIONALISM and ATTENTION serve not only the present, but also the future of the Health Service in Albania. Violation of doctor-patient relationships, real financial underestimation by the Executive, of the doctor's work and efforts, not the latter's efforts to take what belongs to the Health Service financiers, but to see out of the corner of the eye "the pocket of the sick" as a compensatory mechanism, will progressively reduce the DEGREE OF UNDERSTANDING and TRUST between the patient and the doctor, i.e. the breakdown of the proper functioning of the mechanism for the realization of a QUALITY HEALTH SERVICE.

3- THE CREATION OF THE BEST CONDITIONS for the infrastructure of hospital and ambulatory services, as well as payment, for health personnel in providing care to their patients, will mitigate the frightening speed of "BRAIN-DRAIN", i.e. the departure of doctors , nurses, imaging technicians, dentists, pharmacists towards their most protective professional and financial opportunities.

The BALANCE between the IDEALISM of a humane profession and PRAGMATISM, to optimally live life in all its aspects, comes and goes from the latter. It is NOT too late to intervene, so that this negative trend for the FUTURE of the provision of HEALTH CARE can be mitigated, because it is impossible to stop it. Dignified salaries and the drafting of perspective-opening legislation for professional career progression only on the basis of merit, and not of political affiliation or nepotism, of not "fossilizing" the incumbents in their positions, should be a helpful factor in mitigating the "Brain -Drain".

Pseudo-increases of salaries below the level of even their annual "indexation" in relation to inflation serve political rhetoric, but not the real solution of a dignified monetary evaluation of a professional.

4- KNOWLEDGE and KNOWLEDGE, in the letters it is stated long after 22.03.1992, BUT IN REALITY such a thing does not hold. Medical practices are NOT offered in the corridors, balconies, flower gardens or cafes of QSUNT (University Hospital Center "Mother Teresa" Tirana), or of other University Hospitals.

The STATUS of the University Services makes it necessary to recruit only university-level doctors to be employed in them. IN UNIVERSITY CLINICS there should be no labels "Academic/Teacher" and "Hospital Practitioner".

IT IS OUTSIDE THE LOGIC OF CLINICAL WORK not to respect this principle. Students and specialists in each Service spend more time with these "hospital practitioners" than with the "academic body". The same moral/statutory and financial treatment for both categories of doctors of the University Hospital Services, will bring a character of double benefit both of Teaching and KNOWLEDGE.

SOMETHING not normal for me remains the non-payment of all SPECIALISTS, throughout their years of education and work. It is a work practice that has no second example in the world. 6 years of university studies and 4 years of postgraduate studies are a great financial burden for the families of these specialists.

I hope to be heard and understood about everything I write above. Together forever!!!
