Where will the attack on Albania stop?
hackers

Today's blocking of the TIM system is the next attack on Albania, but it will certainly not be the last. This cyber attack is not the work of "hackers", who demand fines, but it is an act of war by Iran as a response to the support of the Iranian opposition and the termination of diplomatic relations with the regime of the Ayatollahs.

Hundreds of thousands of Albanian and foreign citizens were stranded today at border crossing points, ports and the country's main airport due to the cyber aggression directed at Iran. But no one can say that the worst is over.

Blocking the movement of people and goods at Albania's borders is a warning bell for what may come next. After the blocking of ANA, the hacking of the TIM system is the signal that this is only the beginning...

The message in both cases is related to the shelter that Albania has offered to the Iranian opposition. The footage showing the hacking of security cameras at Mother Teresa airport proves that the enemy in front is not ordinary and the battle with him will not be easy.

In the conditions when work and services are being moved online, it is quite possible that the war will continue to be cyber, but it is not excluded that terrorist acts will extend to MEK members in Albania as well as to the civilian population. An attack on the country's critical infrastructure (energy, dams, water pipelines) is not excluded.

The question is no longer will there be more attacks, but where? If we don't have the right expertise for digital security, we need to prepare for physical security.

The events that are taking place are not passed with announcements on social networks, with the phrase that "we are working with partners" or with panicked news, but with taking urgent actions for both digital security and physical security. This is not a game!

Alongside the support coming from allies (mainly the US), it is time to quickly learn lessons from recent cyber attacks. Digital security should be taken seriously. (which means that it is inexcusable that tenders for digital security are treated as road tenders where as a rule we exclude international companies)

The President, even as a former soldier, should have convened the National Security Council in the meantime. Hesitation and delays to act prove that everything that is happening is not being taken seriously.
