The air is dry, warm, while the shiroka wind does not leave the windows until it brings the rain. Towards the October sky, not so dark sometimes with stars and sometimes not, Tirana has finally managed to cast its pink glitter.

Thousands of ampoules, thousands of reflective lamps full of amphora lighting, window lights, bright signs that cover the main streets of the small Albanian capital that is growing every day, boulevards lined with long or short light bulbs that emit luxury cars parked everywhere like an invader that brings the unstoppable time, the entrances of bars, restaurants until dawn, some shacks of misery that are decreasing day by day, artists' studios, lit candles of those who want to wait for the evening as in the century. XVIII, the reflections in the waters of the ponds after the rain, the light in the rings and the white shirts of those who walk everywhere; all these sparks, these glows, these hearths, these fires, these rays melt high above the capital in a dome of light.

The Covid-19 pandemic has been over for two years. Under a new globalist order, openly said or not, Tirana, not as an exception, was reborn with a different brightness than the one we left behind. In the middle of a region that has smelled of mud for decades, the movement of commercial relations and ideas has never been easier. The human one too. Never had so much money, so much luxury, so many works of art, so much delicious food, so much wine, so many words, ornaments, ornaments and dreams been poured out.

Tirana globalized. The liberal one. And who thought that?!

Doctrinaires the world over scream truth and paradox in bars and television banks. And surrounded by busy people, inspired by aesthetes or permanent revolutionaries, every night they hold the biggest and strangest intellectual fair that has been seen in our Albanian history.

An endless plethora of thought crusades. But who is right?

As in every cycle, even after 100 years, the world will wait for the war after the epidemic. Ukraine, some occasional fires in the Balkans and recently what is happening in the Middle East. Humanity, though involved in protests where one side opposes the other, warns that with the development of a new revolution of thought or whatever, the money must necessarily move. After that a new era of happiness awaits us.

Would it actually be?

Today, more than ever, Tirana is a society that is undergoing success. Perhaps ten or twenty oligarchs have a monopoly of power that is constantly reviewed; of wealth, grace and talent. They can be compared quite well with pearls which are very fashionable all the time; there are real ones, made with fakes but also strange ones. Some of them, human flashes that turn black in a few months and others in the market that add value every day.

The truth is that none of them have the intense luster of a precious stone; everyone feels that cloudy glow produced by the secretion of the sea when the pearl emerges from the shell.

There are others. Below them who surround them with admiration. They stand between destitution and fame. In an effort to seize their time.

There are also men of the generation that is slowly ending. Those for whom the country seems to be sinking with them and with those achievements in a plot of land where the wheel of the cart stuck in a puddle of mud and was abandoned there. Those who find fashion too much, the way today's young people live and love too.

Unbridled and unbridled. Those who once thought that all inappropriate behaviors were vices, suppressing them inside themselves or hiding them somewhere deep, such as homosexuality, drugs, complicated or vicious forms of eroticism. Therefore, even today, there is a bit of envy in the punishment that the old people give to the young.

Those who find the works of art of recent times unworthy and the new theories of the world as an expression of barbarism. They record globalism, liberalism, the universal values in which humanity must be protected with interest, but they don't stop asking why Tirana needs towers when we still don't have water in our homes. Those who follow the advances of science sometimes with a sense of wonder filled with pride, sometimes with a sense of resentment at how these technological inventions came so suddenly and invaded their world. And this tumult to them spoils the pleasure of an age where the heart longs for a quieter corridor of civilization, looking round the age, that this disorderly artificial fire will not last long, and certainly will not end. good.

You could shrug your shoulders, but if you think a little more about their attitude, you realize that there is something else beyond that permanent malaise of the wise elders.

Between the societies of 2010 and 2023 a deeper and more secure rift had opened than between the societies of 1990 and 2010... The world has gone to hell, they say. What are they doing with us?!

Within so few years, Albania has aged as much as in a century. It would undoubtedly be her last century of poverty and misery. Even with the escape of young people. Even with the lands left fallow. Even with minimalist salaries. This is the reason why this great thirst for living well and abundantly, (satisfied with money) that has conquered Tirana is often called a greed of ojnamadhi.

Young people blame the older generation for all their visible and foreseeable evils, for their difficulties of the day or for the cloudy blues of tomorrow. The old order they had trumpeted in a thought-numbing system let them down the street. That's right, unfastened.

Therefore, today every person in the hearth of the rays that New Tirana emits every evening has willingly chosen to follow the tunnel of his life. Like an unconscious traveler under the great dome of light where nothing stands out but the dark pavement in front of him.
