I had never thought that even in my worst dream, that one end of August, in the heat of Tirana, when they continue to take the road never to return, not only nurses, plumbers and waiters, but all those who know and two English, German or Greek words, at a time when businessmen are looking for workers from Bangladesh, when institutions are looking for certified professional translators in vain, when people who know state papers, protocols are at their fingertips, you can find a servant without work such capable and honest people of the Albanian state as Edvin Shvarc.

Criminal and sad at the same time!

For those who do not know Edvin Shvarc, he has been working in the Presidency for over two decades, he has changed four Presidents, he has headed several directorates, such as that of Foreign Relations, Communication, and Protocol, specialized, one can even say fully mouth not just specialized, but trained for the Official Protocol of the Head of State, plus official translator of four Presidents, equipped with the highest security certificate that of NATO.

This dismissal is actually tragic for the bad message it sends to tens of hundreds of exemplary public servants (as many as they can be), and becomes at the same time comical when you learn the reasons for Edwin Schwartz's dismissal: It never occurs to him! After almost two decades in the Presidency, he has not converted his school diploma in America.

These lines are an elegy for the Albania of 2022, where those skilled and noble employees who have remained in the suburbs with a room and a kitchen are dismissed and those who have made two or three villas with state salaries are promoted.

Edvin Shvarc was a distinguished student of December, he fled and came from America and for over two decades he contributed professionally and honestly to this country. Maybe he can run away again. At the moment, just like his father, not a few times disappointed by the injustices of the government, he finds himself alone with coffee in front of him and a cigarette on his lips, showing us how he silently describes Albania with President Bajram Begaj.
