At the beginning of 2007, it was announced that the most famous British Hard-Rock group, "Deep Purple", with the extraordinary soloist Ian Gilan, would land in Tirana.
Undoubtedly "Deep Purple" was not in its best days. Guitarist extraordinaire Richie Blackmore was not part of the flu, nor was famed keyboardist John Lord. Moreover, Ian Gilan was 62 years old. I have been and continue to be a follower of this musical complex, so much earlier than that I thought that if this hard-rock band came to Tirana, I would buy a ticket at any price, just to follow it live.
The group arrived in Tirana. I was convinced that the band in question, booked in arenas around the world, would have a ticket with a huge cost, moreover, the concert was given in a closed hall like that of the Palace of Congresses whose capacity is 2200 seats. .
But surprisingly, I secured a ticket of 4 thousand new leks, which at that time was worth 25 euros. Let's say that today, due to inflation and rising prices, this ticket doubles; 50 euros. So with 50 euros I was able to see a fantastic concert, in an electrifying two-hour performance, by a legendary band.
This is about the past 16 years ago.
The waters flowed, the ticket prices changed. But there are no surprises.
The news is currently circulating that to see the premiere of "Big Brother" the price starts at 500 euros, eeee... who knows where it ends.
I took the bad, I took it.
So, 50 euros without Ian Gilan and Ian Peis and 500 euros to see Luiz and Chris.
Is it worth paying so much money?
The question may take a million dollars to get a correct answer. But actually the answer is peanuts altogether.
In March 2007, Albanians did not have so much money in their hands. However, 25 euros was quite a bit to see a legend. Today, Albanians have many times more, and proportionally, they have to pay more. More so when it comes to seeing their idols.
Every time brings out its idols. Everyone has their idols.
Sot Luizi është kthyer jo më një fenomen, por në një ikonë. 133 ditët e ngujimit e kthyen atë në xhevahir. Vendi ku ai ka fjetur tanimë do të kthehet në tyrbe. Vend i mirë. Shqiptarët do shkojnë të ndezin qirinj. Do hedhin dhe monedha, sipas zakonit. Do luten e do falen.
Do të ketë surpriza.
Rightly so actually. That we all booked a ticket for there too: no round trip.
But Big's spectacle is not the only ticket. To go see a theater show today, the ticket costs 3, 5 or at most 7 euros. And when the price goes up to 7 euros, a fight breaks out. It's good that the price of bread went up, and so did the price of the theater. Spiritual food. This should be said: stop! This is an unreasonable increase in prices and the line ministry and the Council of Ministers must react. Yes, this is abuse, after all.
Yes, yes... the fight goes up for a two thousand. That's why the theater hall is never full. That the price is expensive and people can barely make it.
How it all looks to me. Are we in a dream?
