The fire in Shengjin

The situation in Rana e Hedhun in Shengjin continues to be problematic. The flames got out of control and could not be contained even though they worked throughout the night to extinguish them.

From 07:00 in the morning, the intervention by helicopter from the air started. Firefighters from Lezha, Mirdita, Kamza, Tirana and Berati Fieri, Lushnja, Vau i Dejës and Shkodra are working to extinguish the flames.

The fire in Mal Shengjin village, Shengjin administrative unit, Lezhë municipality, has gone completely out of control, although 20 fire engines with relevant personnel have been operating on the ground throughout the night, favored by the strong wind.

The vehicles are 3 Lezhë municipalities, 1 Mirditë municipality, 2 FA, 3 Kamza, 4 Tirana, 1 Berati, 1 Fieri, 1 Lushnja, 1 Vau Dejës, as well as Shkodra with 1 Autobot. 2 buses of Lezha municipality. With the means and firefighting forces, work is being done to protect homes and hotels, until now it has been possible to prevent the buildings from being affected by fire.

The operation throughout the night was attended by the Prefect of the District with his staff, the deputy mayors of Lezhë Municipality, the Director of Preparedness, the Director of Foreign Relations, the Director of the Northern Region in AKMC, the Minister of Protection, the General Director of the Ministry of Health in the UK, 3 fugon of FNSH, (1 Shkodra, 2 Tirana), the Local Police Directorate, Lezhë, as well as numerous police forces. 2 ambulances of Lezhë hospital, 1 ambulance of QVEC.

Despite the presence of all these forces, it is impossible to bring the fire under control, and as a result, many businesses and residential houses are endangered.
