Fire in Dukat endangers Llogara National Park! Aerial intervention required

From the monitoring of the Vlora Municipality structures, this morning at around 08:00, the Fire Service was notified of an activated fire in the Sotirani area, in the village of Dukat, Orikum Administrative Unit.

Currently, 10 firefighters and 3 forest service employees are working on the ground. Due to the rugged terrain and dense vegetation, the forces on the ground are having difficulty bringing the situation under control.

Under these conditions, the Municipality of Vlora has requested aerial intervention by helicopter and the engagement of 30 armed forces, in order to confront the flames and restore the situation to normal, as the fire is seriously endangering the Llogara National Park.
