Scandal in Vora/ They put counterfeit labels on expired products and returned

Police discovered a warehouse in Vora where expiration labels for processed food products were being forged, which had expired since January and February of this year.

These products were then put back on the market, seriously endangering the health of consumers.

The following were arrested:

· FD, 38 years old, warehouse administrator;

· AD, 58 years old, warehouseman.

Criminally prosecuted:

· ST, 56 years old, the subject's partner;

· AD, 36 years old, warehouse driver.

Investigations revealed that the entity, active in the field of import-export and trade of industrial and food goods, collected expired products in various markets in Tirana, Durrës and Elbasan, falsified the expiration labels and then sold them without any tax documentation.

During the inspection, 716 packages and dozens of kilograms of processed food goods were seized, which had an expiration date of January and February 2025, but the date had been changed to deceive consumers.

The investigative file has been referred to the Tirana General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office for the following criminal offenses:

· “Infringement of industrial property rights”,

· “Forgery of seals, stamps or forms”,

· "Hiding income",

· "Non-payment of taxes and duties",

· “Illegal employment” and

· "Import, production, sale, storage of food dangerous to human health or life."
