When three months have passed since the arrest of operational force agent Jeton Lami, on the charge of cooperation with the wanted Ervis Martinaj, the former policeman has still not agreed to speak for the investigators of the case.
Jeton Lami continues to be held in a cell, while during this time the prosecutors have visited him three times in the hope that he will agree to talk about what he knows about Ervis Martinaj.
According to Ora News , Lami gave contradictory reasons to the prosecutors, postponing his testimony. Even at the moment when Lami appeared in front of the court of Laçi to get acquainted with the security measure "Arrest in prison", he refused to speak, although the court gave him the opportunity to comment on the charges.
The police agent was arrested on August 24 after two moments he came out of the video cameras, while accompanying Ervis Martinaj, the person wanted by the SPAK special prosecutor's office, for the charge of "Providing the conditions and means" with the aim of killing Endri Dokles.
But while SPAK and the police were looking for him with the aim of arresting him, Martinaj disappeared on August 8, 2022. In an attempt to track down the wanted man, the police and the prosecutor's office of Laçi discovered that he was associated with police agent Jeton Lami.
On November 24, the 3-month period of Jeton Lam's arrest comes to an end, and it is expected that the investigations against him will be closed by forwarding the file to the court. On the other hand, the investigations into the abduction and disappearance of Ervis Martinaj have remained at a standstill.
For more than 3 months, the investigation team has no data. The officers and prosecutors themselves are hesitant to come up with a final version if Martinaj was kidnapped and killed or if this whole situation is a staged one.
Over the course of three months, a lot of operative information has reached the police, that Martinaj has left Albania, staying hidden in Kosovo. But despite this information, no version has been officially confirmed.
On the other hand, to verify any information, a month ago the police searched two apartments and a garage in the area of Shijak, but did not find any data that would serve to discover the location of Ervis Martinaj.
