As it will be 16 years since Bleona Mata 's disappearance in a few months , a piece of evidence has raised serious doubts about the whereabouts of the girl from Kukës .
Bleona Mata , who went missing on May 22, 2010, from Mount Piklëm, in the area of the village of Zapod, Kukës , according to a witness on TV report, has made a strong statement, saying that the girl is in Llakatund, Vlora.
He claims that after three months in Llakatund, Bleona was held for three months in Picar, Vlora.
"I have information about Bleona Mata. The girl was brought by close family members... they brought her to Llakatund and from Llakatund they kept her in the village of Picar in Vlora for three months," he says.
The witness claims that the girl was taken by a couple, who allegedly kept her isolated, while adding that after the case became public, the little girl, suspected of being Bleona Matë, left the village.
"I saw Bleona with my own eyes, we also saw her on television. I suspect that they sent her to Greece out of fear, since that family had lived in that country before," he said.
Bleona Mata has been missing since May 22, 2010, when her last traces were lost on Mount Piklëmi, in the Kukës area.
Bleona's mother has been asking for help for years to find her daughter, who was only 6 years old at the time.
