Bird flu outbreak discovered in Tirana

The National Veterinary and Plant Protection Authority has announced that a new outbreak of bird flu has been identified in Zall-Herr, Tirana.

This announcement comes after the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development confirmed yesterday the death of 15 heads from "African Swine Fever" in Lezha.

The response states that the outbreak was identified on a chicken and turkey farm where measures have been taken for efficient and immediate control of the situation on the ground.

The National Veterinary and Plant Protection Authority emphasizes that today, representatives of the AKVMB closely inspected the outbreak identified as positive in the Cekrez Morinë Village.

The announcement emphasizes that all measures have been taken to eliminate the infection, and the outbreak and protection and surveillance areas have been quarantined to isolate and prevent the spread of the infection.
