Altin Ndoc's entire escape resembles an amateur action movie. Throughout his entire route, from Durres prison to the Regional Hospital, standard procedures were openly violated, almost at every step. Meanwhile, the moment of the escape, as described in the Prosecution's file, makes the whole story even more banal: two police officers who are knocked to the ground by a single punch, one of them falling down the hospital stairs while being chased, and the warning shot, not in the air but on the ground, to scare Ndoc who had lost sight of him, getting into the car that was waiting for him at the hospital's outer entrance.
ESCAPE SCENARIO
The 38-year-old, suspected by SPAK of the massacre of 3 people in Bradashesh, was taken in an ambulance van with another prisoner, Gerald Kuqin, accompanied by 5 police officers and the driver of the vehicle. Prison regulations state that a minimum of 3 officers are required for one prisoner. On the way, according to the Prosecution file obtained by Report TV, Ndoci felt discomfort in his kidneys, which is why the police removed his handcuffs and let him move from the ambulance to the infectious diseases building, like a free citizen.
Ndoci was escorted to the isolated room on the third floor of the Infectious Diseases Unit with 3 police officers, 2 others followed the other prisoner to the emergency room.
'MY KIDNEYS HURTED', I HAD TO GO TO THE TOILET 4 TIMES, THE FIFTH TIME I WENT AWAY
Ndoci allegedly stayed in the hospital room for 3 hours, without having any contact with the white shirts. During this time, complaining of pain, he went to the toilet four times. This game with the police seems to be a well-thought-out scenario.
The fifth request to the bathroom comes at the moment he apparently planned his escape. One of the police officers had left to join the two other colleagues who were accompanying the other prisoner in the emergency room, Gerald Kuqi. He had finished his visit and had to return to prison.
HE KILLS 2 POLICEMEN WITH ONE PUNCH, ONE FALLS DOWN THE HOSPITAL STAIRS
As soon as the door to the iron cage opened, according to the prosecution file, the 38-year-old, unhandcuffed, punched the first officer Fatjon Baçi in the chest. “He fell on his colleague Sali Ferrollari, and both fell to the ground,” the file states. With the detainee running from the third floor of the hospital, one of the police officers, the same one who was hit, gave chase, but fell again, this time on the stairs of the infectious disease ward. In the hospital courtyard, he fired his service weapon to scare the running prisoner, surprisingly not in the air, as the regulations stipulate, but on the ground. The two police officers went out into the street – the file states – and began to question the residents, who told him that they had seen a person leaving the hill in a car.
At this moment, while Ndoci has escaped, police officer Fatjon Baçi tries to call the police operations room at number 129, but the file states that they did not answer. Next, Sali Ferrollari contacted the information specialist at the Durrës prison Violeta Uka. The latter was placed under house arrest by the Durrës Court, after, in violation of the law, she did not notify either the Prisons Directorate or the Durrës police of the movement of the detainees to the hospital.
The two police officers who confronted Ndoc were left in prison by the Court, while Dorian Saraçi, the third who was initially with them, but left to return the other prisoner to his cell after finishing his visit to the emergency room, was left under obligation to appear. The same measure, obligation to appear, was also for the other 2 who were with Gerald Kuqin, Preng Marvataj and Aranit Çela.
The prison's chief nurse had planned to send Ndoc to the hospital, where the escape would be finalized. The file states that early in the morning of January 13, at 08:30, Aulon Çuku asked the doctor for a recommendation for 4 prisoners who had concerns and needed to undergo specialized examinations at the Durrës hospital.
NDOCI WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL WITHOUT A VISIT FROM THE PRISON DOCTOR
The prison doctor, Yrfet Sema, did not visit Altin Ndoci regarding his health condition but relied only on the head nurse's words that he had kidney pain. However, without touching the imprisoned patient, she immediately signed the papers, within the day, recommending that Ndoci visit a surgeon. That's all it took for the head nurse to write the papers on the pad for the accompaniment of the 4 prisoners. (Eduard Haxhia, visit with a cardiologist after chronic concerns, Artur Hoxhosmani, toothache since Friday, Gerald Kuqi, it is not specified in the file what concern he has, and Altin Ndoci)
NDOCI SUSPECTED FOR MURDER, PRISONS: NO ESCAPE RISK
In the prosecution file that Report TV provides, it is stated that the head nurse Çuku prepared everything and sent the order to the prison police chief, Dezdemont Pazaj, "but before that, he also sent it to the prison director himself, Indrit Cërloj, who immediately approved the permission without verifying whether the doctor had visited him, and without supervising the rules of escorting him." Altin Ndoci is accused of being the armed wing of the Çopjave criminal organization in Elbasan, suspected of murder, but the evaluation commission in the prison, with the signature of the dismissed and already arrested director, had judged that the 38-year-old did not pose a risk of escaping (this assessment was made on December 4, 2025).
MIRACLE! I HAD A KIDNEY, THE HEAD NURSE TALKED TO THE CARDIOLOGIST
Another element in the file raises strong suspicions about the head nurse. For Altin Ndocin, he spoke with the cardiologist – the file states – when in fact the prison doctor recommended a consultation with a surgeon. According to this communication, which is not clear whether it was really made or whether Aulon Çuku created the whole thing to keep Altin Ndocin in the hospital longer, the cardiologist had recommended treatment and a recheck after 2 hours. Here comes another untruth from the Prisons Directorate, which in its first and only official reaction, announced that Ndocin received treatment, a claim that is still unsubstantiated.
Chief infirmary Aulon Çuku was placed under house arrest, while the prison doctor is expected to appear in court in the coming days to reassess the house arrest measure, imposed only on Friday, when the dismissed prison director, Indrit Cërloj, was also arrested.
Meanwhile, the prison police chief, Dezdemon Pazaj, was left in prison by the Durrës Court. He was assigned to the escort group that would move sick prisoners from their cells to the hospital, but that day he was replaced by a colleague./ Report Tv
